Lora-Cooper-Rothen-2013-21Lora Cooper Rothen is the CEO and majority owner of Du-Co Ceramics Company, a custom manufacturer of engineered components from various ceramic materials serving a wide variety of global industrial customers. Founded in 1949 in Saxonburg, PA, Du-Co also operates a production facility in North Carolina acquired in 2007. Ms. Rothen has held numerous positions at Du-Co including Controller/Treasurer, General Manager and President.    

Graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974, Lora worked for a New Jersey CPA firm until 1976 when she started a business providing a range of services to small and mid size professional firms. In 1981 she sold her interest in this business to accept the position of Controller at Du-Co.   

Lora is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Ceramic Society having served as the Society’s Treasurer from 2006-2008. She is Vice President of the American Association of Ceramic Component Manufacturers (AACCM) having served as Treasurer when AACCM was formed in 1990 and President from 2004-2006. She serves on the Board of Catalyst Connection, the Pittsburgh region NIST Manufacturing Extension Partner and is an active volunteer in many local organizations.
