Steven Jung Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer of the specialty glass and ceramics company Mo-Sci Corporation, Rolla, MO.

Steven has earned a B.S., and M.S. in Ceramic Engineering, and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Missouri S&T.  He started at Mo-Sci Corporation in 2010, and was promoted to CTO in 2012 to lead the R&D group.  Additionally, he is an adjunct professor of Material Science and Engineering at the Missouri S&T where he has instructed courses in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering.  During Steven’s professional career he has been granted 65 U.S. and international patents in bone grafting, wound care, tissue guides and scaffolds, load bearing orthopedic implants, and dental implants.  His inventions have been commercialized in at least eight different bone grafting products and the world’s first bioactive glass based wound care product.  Steven has served as a co-chair of the Innovations in Biomaterials conference series for ACerS and has had the honor of giving the Darshana and Arun Varshneya Frontiers in Glass Technology Lecture in 2015.  He was the founding chair of the newly formed Bioceramics Division and continues to serve ACerS community on the leadership team for the Manufacturing Division.  Steven is a member of the Academy of Mines and Metallurgy and the Athletic Hall of Fame at Missouri S&T, and 2019 received the Missouri S&T Alumni Achievement Award for his professional achievements.

Outside of work, Steven serves on the Rolla Regional Economic Council, an organization that markets the local region for economic development and expansion.
