Annual Call For Nominations
![]() ACerS 2008 ANNUAL ELECTION CALL FOR NOMINATIONS Deadline: December 8, 2007 The ACerS Nominating Committee is now welcoming nominations for the 2008 Officer and Board election and to populate key leadership from the membership at large. The deadline is December 8, 2007.
Do you know someone you think would be perfect for the Board? Do you, personally, have a desire to become more involved in setting the direction of your professional society? If so, the 2007-08 Nominating Committee wants to hear from you.
In an effort to ensure that the nominations process draws as widely as possible from the membership, the Nominating Committee is reaching out to the entire membership for suggestions and recommendation for potential Society leaders. While this doesn't guarantee that a person will be selected for a committee or make the final board slate, it will provide the Nominating Committee with a wider pool of talent upon which to draw and make their selections.
Nominations may be made for the following positions, and self nominations are welcome: OFFICERS and BOARD President-Elect: one candidate to serve a one-year term – 2009-2010 (president term 2010-2011) Directors: five to seven candidates for three elected positions to serve three-year terms – term 2009-2012 Treasurer: one candidate to serve a two-year term – term 2008-2010 COMMITTEES Nominating: three members to serve two-year terms – term 2008-2010 Meetings: two members to serve three-year terms – term 2008-2011 Member Services: one member to serve-four year term – term 2008-2012 Publications: one member to serve four-year term – term 2008-2012 When submitting a nomination, indicate the position for which the nominee is proposed. It would also be helpful, but not mandatory, to include background information on the individual you are nominating. You can submit your nominations confidentially via email to: acerspresident@ceramics.org by Saturday, December 8, 2007. If selected by the Nominating Committee, nominees will be contacted for their consent to stand for election or appointment.
