While January 15th was the deadline for most Society award nominations that will be presented at MS&T 2015 in Columbus, Ohio, there are some important later deadlines that are worth noting. These awards are listed below in order of deadline date. 

April 1st:
Du-Co Ceramics Scholarship Award
This $3,000 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student pursing a degree in ceramics or materials science. Involvement in ACerS activities, particularly the President’s Council of Student Advisors (PCSA), is one of the selection criteria. The winner will receive a $3,000 scholarship check, a certificate, and a $500 travel grant to attend the meeting to receive their award.

Du-Co Ceramics Young Professional Award
This $1,500 honorarium and a lifetime ACerS membership are awarded to a young professional member of ACerS who demonstrates exceptional leadership and service to ACerS.

May 15th:
GOMD Alfred R. Cooper Scholars Award
This award recognizes undergraduate students who have demonstrated excellence in research, engineering, and/or study in glass science or technology. The recipient will receive a plaque and a check for $500.

May 15th:
Electronics: Edward C. Henry Award
This award is given annually to an outstanding paper reporting original work in the Journal of the American Ceramic Society or the ACerS Bulletin during the previous calendar year on a subject related to electronic ceramics. The author(s) will be presented with a plaque and $500 (split between authors).

Electronics: Lewis C. Hoffman Scholarship
This $2,000 tuition award encourages academic interest and excellence among undergraduate students in the area of ceramics/materials science and engineering. The 2015 essay topic is “Electroceramics for telecommunications.”
