Singh to receive Michigan/Northwest Ohio Section award
Mark your calendars! The 2014 Toledo Glass and Ceramic Award meeting will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the Toledo Club in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Mrityunjay Singh, chief scientist at the Ohio Aerospace Institute in Cleveland, Ohio, and Fellow, director, and president-elect nominee of the Board of ACerS, will receive the Toledo Glass & Ceramic Award of the Michigan/NW Ohio Section of The American Ceramic Society.
The Toledo Glass and Ceramic Award recognizes distinguished scientific, technical or engineering achievements in glass and ceramics. Dr. Singh has made pioneering and seminal contributions in the field of science, engineering, and applications of advanced ceramics and composites, ceramic integration technologies, green and sustainable materials and manufacturing, and thermal management materials and technologies for such applications as gas turbines and thermal protection systems, power generation, aerospace systems, and space exploration and transportation systems.
A social hour with cash bar begins at 6:00 p.m., and dinner and award presentation begin at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Singh will provide remarks on “Human Space Exploration: Risks and Challenges.”
