Last week, ACerS executive director Charlie Spahr inked a new agreement with NIST to continue the 60-year collaboration between the agency and the Society to produce the highly-regarded ACerS-NIST Phase Equilibria Diagrams database. The five year agreement will add about 1,000 ceramic phase diagrams per year to the approximately 25,000 phase diagrams already in the collection.

A unique feature of the ACerS-NIST phase diagram collection is that each diagram is critically evaluated before being added to the database, and the expert commentary is included with the diagram, making the diagrams highly valued among researchers, consultants and academicians. Terrell Vanderah manages the program for NIST.

“The Society is very pleased to continue to work with NIST to provide this valuable asset to the ceramics research community.” Spahr said.

Phase Equilibria Diagrams is available online or in CD-ROM format. Visit the website to purchase the database or learn more.
