The Advances in Cement-based Materials meeting, hosted July 11-13 in West Lafayette, Indiana, on Purdue University’s campus. The meeting was attended by 91 leaders and contributors to the cements community. Jim Kirkpatrick, Cements Division Trustee and Dean of the College of Natural Sciences from Michigan State University delivered the Della Roy Lecture. His talk was “NMR Spectroscopy in Cement Science.” A half-day tutorial entitled “An Introduction to the Uses of Molecular Dynamics Simulations for Cement-based Materials” featured Florence Sanchez from Vanderbilt, Alejandro Strachan from Purdue, and Jim Kirkpatrick.
