Innolith Energy Technology brings 1,000 km EV within range
Innolith AG, a leader in rechargeable inorganic battery technology, announced it is developing a 1,000 Wh/kg rechargeable battery. In addition to its proposed range capabilities—powering an electric vehicle for over 1,000 km on a single charge—the battery would be the first nonflammable lithium-based battery for use in EVs.

Kyocera to build new facility to produce automated equipment for “smart factory”
Kyocera Corp. started construction of a new facility on the premises of its Yasu manufacturing complex in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. The facility will develop and produce Kyocera’s own proprietary automated production equipment, enabling the company to strengthen its use of robotics and artificial intelligence in manufacturing.
3D concrete printing and digital construction center to be established in the Middle East
The American University in Dubai will establish a scientific research center for 3D printing concrete buildings. Called The Center for 3D Concrete Printing and Digital Construction, it is reportedly the first of its kind in the Middle East. 3DVinci Creations, a 3D printing service bureau based in Dubai, will supply the center with a 3D printer.
MEG secures €100 million production boost
Egyptian container glassmaker Middle East Glass Manufacturing Company secured a $100 million financial package to boost growth. The package was supplied by IFC, a member of World Bank Group, as part of a larger effort by IFC to support Egypt’s manufacturing sector.

China Northern Rare Earth lowers April listed prices of light rare earth products
State-owned mining company China Northern Rare Earth lowered listed prices of light rare earth products for April, including praseodymium-neodymium oxide and praseodymium-neodymium metal, by over 7 percent from March. Listed prices of neodymium oxide also dropped 7.2 percent, while prices of lanthanum oxide and cerium oxide remained flat.
