CEX-2106

WESTERVILLE, OHIO—Cleveland will host 3,000 ceramic and glass commercial and manufacturing industry leaders and 300 vendors for Ceramics Expo 2016, April 26–28, outpacing last year’s event, which brought 171 exhibitors and more than 2,300 attendees from 25 countries representing 1,000 organizations. This is the show’s second consecutive year—and second visit to Cleveland’s IX Center—for the engineered ceramic and glass industry.

“This is a 100% bigger show than last year,” says Adam Moore, event for director for Ceramics Expo. “The growth of this event is demonstrative of a growing, evolving industry.”

Engineered ceramic and glass materials are used in diverse applications ranging from smartphones, catalytic converters, jet engines, steelmaking, household appliances, armor, teeth, and more.

Ceramics Expo is the only North American commercial tradeshow for all raw materials, equipment, machinery, and technology within the ceramic and glass manufacturing supply chain. Besides vendors on the production side of the industry, leading component manufacturers—such as CoorsTek, Corning, Kyocera, McDanel Advanced Ceramics, Morgan Advanced Ceramics, and Saint-Gobain—will exhibit their ceramic and glass products. Small- and medium-size companies find the Expo offers a great audience to introduce themselves to the entire industry.

“Wherein some applications ceramic materials were once regarded as the materials of last resort, they are now the materials of choice,” Moore explains. “Better property characteristics and longer lifetime, along with reduced cost, has led to a dramatic increase in the use and adoption of ceramic materials. The growth of Ceramics Expo and, even more importantly, the types of exhibitors we have displaying at this year’s event are results of this trend.”

Additionally, Ceramics Expo offers a unique, free-to-attend, twin track, commercial and manufacturing conference that runs parallel to the Expo. This year’s conference features speakers from organizations including Corning, GE, 3M, Rolls-Royce, Boeing, and other industry leaders.

The American Ceramic Society (ACerS), founding partner of Ceramics Expo, will be among the exhibitors on the Expo floor and will offer unique opportunities for attendees and vendors to build their businesses. Leading into Expo on April 25–26, ACerS will welcome business leaders from the industry at its annual Ceramic Leadership Summit.

“Ceramic Leadership Summit is a strategy-focused meeting for decision makers in our industry, says Mark Mecklenborg, ACerS director of meetings, publications, and membership. “A stunning lineup of Summit speakers will address C-level concerns, including innovations in manufacturing, impact of changing demographics on business, venture financing, and acquisition strategies.”

Ceramics Expo is free to attend, but requires registration. Ceramic Leadership Summit has a few openings remaining.

ACerS will exhibit at booth #308 and will also be the go-to source for all-things Ceramics Expo at the event. Attendees and those following it online can stay up-to-date on the buzz by subscribing to Ceramic Tech Today and connecting with ACerS on Facebook and Twitter with #CEX16.
