Peng Shou

Prof. Peng Shou, from Anhui, China, currently serves as CEO of Triumph Group, which is a group company evolved from Bengbu Design & Research Institute for Glass Industry (BDRIGI). He is also a Steering Committee member of the International Commission on Glass (ICG), director of the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Technology of Float Glass, Vice President of the Chinese Ceramic Society, director of the Glass Development Center of China, and a Visiting Professor of Zhejiang University. In 2012 he was elected as president of the ICG and served a full term from 2012 to 2015.

He earned his bachelor degree in Inorganic Material Engineering at Wuhan University of Technology in 1982, and his master degree in Enterprise Management at the same university in 2001.

Prof. Peng Shou is a technical expert and an outstanding enterprise leader in China’s glass industry. For over 30 years, he has dedicated himself to leading-edge work in scientific research, design and industrialization of glass technology. As a CEO, he led diversification of glass industry from traditional building glass to a steadily expanding business of solar energy glass and optoelectronic display glass through a continued focus on glass technology and engineering, and successfully established TFT-LCD glass and power-generating glass industry in China. In the past 15 years, Prof. Peng and his team have helped developing countries build over 150 glass production lines and train over 10,000 technology professionals.

Prof. Peng Shou has been in charge of 14 major R&D programs related to important aspects of glass technology. He has won China National Science & Technology Advancement Awards, China’s Outstanding Engineer Award, ICG 2016 President’s Award, Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award, Science & Technology Award of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, etc.

He established and revised 7 national industry standards, possessed 69 patents for invention, authored or coauthored 4 monographs and published more than 100 papers. Prof. Peng Shou joined ACerS since Feb 2015 in Engineering Ceramics Division and Glass & Optical Materials Division. In the year of 2018, Prof. Peng Shou was awarded ACerS’s medal for Leadership in the Advancement of Ceramic Technology.
