Tadashi Matsunaga is a manager in the Polyimide and Specialty Products Business Unit at Ube Industries, Ltd., Ube, Japan. He has been with Ube Industries for 10 years. Prior to his current role, Matsunaga was principle researcher in the Corporate Research and Development Division at Ube Industries; manager of UBE-Group Business Promotion Office on Inorganic Specialty Products at Ube Industries; and research scientist in the Corporate Research and Development Division at Ube Industries. He was also a visiting scientist in the Ceramic Science and Technology Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN from 2009 to 2010.

Dr. Matsunaga holds BE, ME, PhD degrees in mechanical system engineering from Hiroshima University in Japan. His PhD dissertation title is a study of fabricating process with ultrasonic infiltration method and tensile strength of continuous carbon fiber reinforced aluminum alloy composite wires. He has about 20 research papers.
