Professor Zhan-Cheng Guo is Director of State Key Laboratory of Advanced Metallurgy, University of Science and Technology Beijing, China.

Professor Zhan-Cheng Guo received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in iron and steel metallurgy field at University of Science and Technology Beijing, and received his doctor’s degree in physical chemistry metallurgy field at Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences.  From 1992-2006, he was Associate Professor/Professor in Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In the years 2006-2011, he was Professor in University of Science and Technology Beijing. From 2011-today, he is Director of State Key Laboratory of Advanced Metallurgy in University of Science and Technology Beijing. Professor Zhan-Cheng Guo is the winner of the National Outstanding Youth Scientist foundation of NSFC(2002), the member in Hundred-Talent Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences(2004), the First and Second Level Member of National Tens of Thousands of Talents Project(2004), the member in Metallurgical Reaction Engineering Committee of the Chinese Society for Metals, and the Editorial Board Member of Journal of Chemical Industry and Engineering and The Chinese Journal of Process Engineering. He has authored over 300 papers indexed by SCI/EI and 4 books, and authorized over 40 patents. Professor Guo receivied the Billiton Gold Medal from the International Institute of Materials & Minerals & Mining in 2006, the Special Allowances from the State Council in 2008, the Best Paper Award of the Fifth Europe Metallurgy Conference in 2009, the Prize in Metallurgical Science and Technology in 2014, the Innovation Award of Scientific and Technological Achievements in Industry-University-Research Cooperation and the Chinese Patent Award of Excellence in 2015.

Professor Zhan-Cheng Guo works on new ironmaking and steelmaking process development, energy conservation and secondary resource recycling within metallurcial process.
