PACRIM 14/GOMD 2021 Virtual Conference Details

ACerS is pivoting PACRIM/GOMD to a fully live virtual meeting, December 12-16, 2021. We feel there are too many obstacles to holding an in-person meeting, specifically the current on-site COVID mandates/restrictions, as well as current country and corporate travel restrictions. A robust live, virtual meeting can include everyone who wishes to participate.

We understand that there can be many different types of “virtual” conferences, so we want to be very specific as to what we are offering so you can make an informed decision as a speaker or attendee.

Virtual Speakers

As a virtual speaker, you will record your talk in our virtual conference platform, Bravura Speaker Portal. The platform will be available to you for recording starting in mid-November through December 6, 2021. You will receive specific instructions from our ACerS Meetings Team on how to record your talk.  You may also refer to the Virtual Presentation Guide, linked at the top of this page.

Please note: As a virtual speaker, we will queue your recorded presentation to play at the assigned time in your session.  We urge you to attend live to answer Q&A after your talk via the Q&A and chat function.  However, each session will be recorded and posted under its full session in Bravura for all registered participants to watch within 24 hours of the session’s completion.

There will be a discussion board attached to your session in Bravura, where all participants  can ask you questions. They can also message you directly through the Bravura virtual conference platform.

ACerS does require its speakers to register for meetings to participate. As a virtual speaker, you will register for the meeting at the virtual rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q – My session moderator has his/her own Zoom account and wants me to join my session live to present. Is that okay?

A – No, that is not acceptable and that is not how we’ve set up the virtual conference. The only access to join the conference for your presentation will be through the Bravura Speaker Portal site.  You will receive a password for this site when it opens in November.

Q – If I’m just submitting a video, why do I have to pay a conference fee?

ACerS does require all speakers to register for its meetings, whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid. All registrants will have access to all content.  The society still faces significant costs with the virtual platform and additional staffing to provide a virtual option.

Q – As a virtual speaker, do I need to “log in” to the virtual conference platform during the date and time I am assigned to speak in my session?

Yes.  You are asked to join your session virtually through the Bravura Speaker Portal at least 15 minutes before the session start time to check-in with the session moderator and ensure your recorded video is ready to play at your assigned time. A recording of the entire session will be posted in Bravura within 24 hours for viewing.

Q – As a virtual speaker, how do I interact with other conference attendees?

During your presentation, attendees may connect with you via the messaging and Q&A function on the virtual site.  You may also connect with other attendees by utilizing the messaging feature within Bravura.

To view presentations in other sessions, you will access the Bravura Connect O site with the password you will receive the week prior to the start of the conference.

Q – As a virtual attendee, will I have access to all talks?

Yes, any registered attendee for PACRIM 14/GOMD 2021 will have access to join any live session and also access to all session recordings through February 28, 2022. You gain access to these recordings by logging into the Bravura Connect O platform (access will be provided to all registrants via email in the week prior to the start of the conference).
