S4: Armor Ceramics


ICACC'11


U.S. military forces face an ever changing array of threats on the battlefield that continually requires the development of new characterization tools and advanced materials with improved ballistic protection. Ceramic materials are, and will continue to be, an integral component of the many armor systems developed to provide protection for air and ground vehicles as well as the individual soldier. This symposium will bring together researchers from industry, academia, and government organizations to address areas critical to the development of armor ceramics that meet the necessary performance requirements.
