Stephen Wilke is an R&D Scientist at Materials Development, Inc., where he develops levitation instruments to study the structure and properties of liquids and glasses. Based at a small company, Stephen’s work includes collaborations with academia and national labs, with regular X-ray and neutron scattering experiments at Argonne and Oak Ridge National Laboratories.

He completed his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University in 2020, and his past research has included fuel cell electrode engineering, thermochemical cycling for renewable fuel generation, Li-ion battery thermal management, and freeze casting of metallic foams for use as battery materials.
