Reinhard Conradt is a retired professor from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He performed industry related research at Fraunhofer Institute of Silicate Science (ISC) Würzburg, Germany for 6 years, then served for 10 years as lecturer and industry consultant in an emerging market of Asia (Thailand). From 1997 to 2016, he was full professor and Chair of Glass & Ceramic Composites at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. His work has been committed to building bridges between science, especially chemistry, thermodynamics and kinetics, and industrial engineer­ing. This comprises fundamental research as well as the evaluation and optimization of industrial processes.

He served 8 years as Collegiate of the German Research Foundation (DFG) and 8 years as Curator of the Ernst Abbé Fund, Deutsches Stiftungszentrum. Since 2015, he has been serving as President of the German Society of Glass Technology (DGG), since 2018 as Vice President of the International Commission on Glass (ICG).

Since 2017, he has been given R&D consultation and education to industry with own company uniglassAC GmbH.

Diploma in Physics 1977, Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry 1981, Sc.D. (Habilitation) in Glass Science & Technology 1997. Industry Award of the German Society of Glass Technology 1986, International Otto Schott Research Award 2001, W.E.S.
