Robert Schaut Bio
Robert A. Schaut is a Senior Research Associate in the Glass Research department of the Science & Technology division at Corning Incorporated, specializing in the study of chemical and physical properties of glass surfaces. Since joining Corning in 2008, Robert has conducted research in glass ceramics, Gorilla® Glasses, and most recently, aluminosilicate glasses for pharmaceutical packaging.
Robert earned his B.S. in Ceramic Engineering / Glass Science from Alfred University in 2002 and his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in 2008. He has co-authored seven peer-reviewed articles, more than 60 technical reports, and more than 50 patent applications. Robert has been granted 28 patents and is a member of The American Ceramic Society, Keramos, and the Parenteral Drug Association.
