The third annual Serbian Ceramic Society International Meeting – Advanced Ceramics and Application III will be held September 29–October 1, 2014, at the Serbian Academi of Science and Arts (SASA) in Belgrade, Serbia. Over 100 scientists from all over the world are expected, including eminent scientists from the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Rumania, Moldova, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Spain, Japan, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, France, Iran, Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.

Kyocera, Century Tokyo Leasing, Ciel et Terre announce construction of the world’s largest floating solar power plant

Kyocera Corporation, Century Tokyo Leasing Corporation and Ciel et Terre International will begin construction this month on the world’s largest floating solar installation. Plants will use floating solar platforms in two installations, totaling 2.9 MW, at Nishihira Pond and Higashihira Pond in Kato City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. 

EOS founder invests in ceramics additive manufacturing company Lithoz

CEO and founder of EOS, a major player within the field of laser sintering additive manufacturing, Hans J. Langer has invested into Lithoz. Although the size of the investment has not been publicly announced, Langer has been known for his investments in several 3D printing verticals, making this particular investment a nice vote of confidence for the company’s future.

AGC to enhance float glass production in Indonesia

Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. announced it has decided to invest approximately 16 billion Japanese yen to PT Asahimas Flat Glass Tbk, one of AGC’s consolidated subsidiaries in Indonesia, and newly set up a state-of-the-art float glass furnace in the country to replace a float furnace at the Jakarta Plant.
