The Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS covers the complete field of advanced ceramics including the development and application of modern ceramic materials, production technologies and components up to intelligent system solutions in many industry sectors for both structural and functional ceramics. From 2014, the competence portfolio was enlarged to materials- and components diagnostics, condition monitoring, nano-analysis and sensors as well as bio- and environmental technology by means of quality assurance. The Fraunhofer IKTS is one of 67 institutes and research units of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the leading organization for applied research in Europe. |
