This latest issue, featuring the annual international profile of the ceramics and glass industry, is packed with all the great content you’ve come to expect in the official membership magazine of The American Ceramic Society.

This year’s international spotlight falls on South Korea—a country with a rich history and a talent for using its material resources to create innovative solutions. A panel of research and private sector leaders provides us with expert insight into Korea’s industry today, which is pioneering advances in nanotechnology, semiconductors, automotive, energy, and defense sectors. South Korea is a foreign trade powerhouse that has strategically aligned worldwide partners to drive its robust economic growth. Be sure not to miss the article’s infographic to get a quick visual sense of Korea’s impressive economic stats.

Another feature article in the October/November issue is the annual Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) article series. This year, Lynnette Madsen, program director of Ceramics at NSF, provides an excellent highlight of the two 2015 CAREER awardees—Hui (Claire) Xiong and William Chueh. Xiong is researching defect-driven metal oxides for enhanced energy storage at Boise State University, and Chueh is researching surface redox activity of atomically flat electroceramics at Stanford University. The article profiles the awardees’ robust professional and personal goals, including a Q&A column with the awardees themselves.

Plus, the October/November issue is packed with all the great Society and research news, meeting information, and great content you can find in every issue of the ACerS Bulletin.

The current issue is free to all for a short time, but remember that all the valuable content in over ninety years of past issues of the ACerS Bulletin is free only to members—so considering joining us today!
