WESTERVILLE, OHIO—The Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation will install its first Board of Trustees during the inaugural Ceramics Expo trade show, April 28–30 in Cleveland, Ohio.
An initiative of The American Ceramic Society, the CGIF’s mission is to ensure that the global ceramic and glass industry is able to attract, inspire, and train the highest quality talent available to work with this unique class of engineered materials.
The Foundation’s international Board represents a cross section of the world’s top materials manufacturers and academic institutions.

At their first meeting, the CGIF Trustees will determine programming and scholarship priorities for the coming year, including establishing cost-efficient training and continuing education for working professionals, outreach programs for elementary and secondary school students, and scholarships and internships for undergraduate students. These programs will be provided through gifts to the CGIF, which will be matched dollar for dollar by a $1 million matching grant provided by The American Ceramic Society.
