Our commitment to our members
The American Ceramic Society supports the worldwide ceramic and glass community and embraces the participation of all people as a core value to the advancement of our discipline, our industry, and the global society in which we live and work.
The Society rejects all expressions of hatred wherever they occur and commits itself to the fair and equitable treatment of all regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or disability.
Our members’ common enthusiasm for solving grand challenges with ceramic and glass materials binds us and leaves no room for artificial boundaries. We commit to working with our members and partners to ensure that the exchange of scientific ideas and cultural exchange between scientists and engineers continues uninterrupted for the purpose of catalyzing peace, dignity, opportunity, and respect for all peoples.
ACerS recognizes and welcomes its responsibility—and opportunity—to lead positive change. We must continually challenge ourselves to create a welcoming culture in the Society and endeavor to export it throughout our sphere of influence. The Member Engagement Subcommittee of the Member Services Committee works proactively to ensure that the Society fosters a culture of member engagement across all ACerS activities and the ceramic and glass industry.
