The ECD Nominating Committee invites nominations for the division secretary candidate for 2012-13. Please send your nominations with a short description of the candidate’s qualifications to one of the committee members by July 31st, 2012.

First call for 2013 Fellows nominations

It’s time to submit nominations for the ACerS 2013 Class of Fellows.  Nominations submitted by Sept.1, 2012 will be considered for elevation to Fellow at the 2013 ACerS Annual Meeting at MS&T’13 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Criteria and forms are available online, or contact Marcia Stout for more information. 

Nominations open for Mueller & Bridge Building awards

The Engineering Ceramics Division invites nominations for the James I. Mueller and the Bridge Building Awards.  The deadline for submitting nominations is July 15, 2012The main criteria for selecting the Mueller award winner are long-term service to ECD and work in the area of engineering ceramics that has had significant industrial, national or academic impact. Award selection can be based on either criteria or a combination of both.

The Bridge Building award recognizes individuals outside of the US who have made outstanding contributions to engineering ceramics. The two main criteria to be used in selecting the recipient are the individual’s contribution to the field of engineering ceramics, including expansion of the knowledge base and their commercial use and, the individual’s contributions to the visibility of the field and international advocacy. The award can be based on either criteria or a combination of both.

Submit Biomaterials 2012 abstracts by June 13th.

Innovations in Biomedical Materials 2012 brings together the materials research, manufacturing and medical communities to explore technological advancements, facilitate product innovations, and identify potential new applications. Biomaterials 2012 will emphasize collaboration between R&D, medical practitioners, and biomedical materials manufacturers/marketers to better develop emerging technologies into marketable products.
