Meeting Description

Hosted in May 15-19, GOMD 2011 features symposia on Glass Science, Amorphous State, Optical Materials & Devices and Glass Technology. Sessions headed by technical leaders from industry, government laboratories, and academia will cover the latest advances in glass science and technology, as well as a focused examination of the amorphous state. The poster session, sponsored by the Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, will highlight late-breaking research and the annual student poster contest. Open sessions will also be organized for each of the symposia, so contact the Symposium Lead for details. Just Announced: At the GOMD 2011 Conference Dinner, John E. Marra will deliver “Beyond Fukushima: Advanced Materials to Enable Enhanced Nuclear Power Systems,” a talk on the materials science needs in nuclear energy applications highlighted by the Fukushima disaster.
