WEBINAR DESCRIPTION

This webinar will focus on strategies for navigating career paths amidst the cross-cultural experiences, finding the right opportunities and negotiation skills to get the best out of your academic research and coursework. The discussion will be in a story telling form with important conclusions which can be adopted to enhance student experience and leadership skills for future professional careers.

Dr. Tushar Sharma
Staff RF Engineer
Renesas Electronics

Tushar Sharma is Staff RF Engineer at the Renesas Electronics, San Diego, California, a Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India. He is also the vice-chair of the IEEE Vice Chair for Member Geographic Activities (MGA), IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) in 2022 with his current focus on expansion of young professionals program. He was awarded the 2020 IEEE Young Professional Hall of Fame award for the leadership role in MTT-S. 

He received Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Calgary, Canada in 2018 followed by post-doctoral research in the Integrated Micro-systems Research Lab at the Princeton University, New Jersey, USA. His research interests include high frequency novel reconfigurable techniques in RF and mm-wave transmitters, broadband high-power gallium nitride (GaN) power amplifiers, large signal device modelling, technology characterization, digital signal processing, mm-Wave amplifiers, and waveform engineering. He has more than 40 publications in international journals and conferences along with 3 granted patents.  He was recipient of 2019 IMS Student paper award, 2019/2020/2021 industry paper finalist award, Izaak Walton Killam pre-doctoral scholarship, the Alberta Science and Innovation under 30 Future Leader Award, the Alberta Innovates Technology Future Doctoral Scholarship, the Alberta Transformative Talent Scholarship, the IEEE Education Activity Board Pre-Educator award, IEEE MGA Young Professionals Achievement award and University of Calgary 2018 Early Achievement Alumni award.
