The Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation (CGIF) provides an opportunity to submit project proposals each year in order to support their mission. Such projects must be directly related to introducing students to ceramic and glass science. The Clemson University Material Advantage Chapter took hold of the opportunity to submit a project proposal and was awarded a grant in 2018.

It is a requirement for grant recipients to provide a final report to CGIF – and the Clemson University Material Advantage Chapter decided to take it one step further and submit a video update.

Check out the video update provided by Jacob and Katie with the Clemson Material Advantage Chapter regarding their recent 3D printer purchase. They will be promoting Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) as well as the Material Advantage program to students in high, middle, and elementary schools through their use of the 3D printer.

Again, support for their efforts was provided through the Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation (CGIF). The CGIF’s mission is to help the industry attract and train the highest quality talent available to work with engineered systems and products that utilize ceramic and glass materials.

It is not too late to apply for the CGIF Fall 2019 Grant Proposals – applications are due by August 23, 2019!
