The Glass & Optical Materials Division (GOMD) invites nominations for the Stookey Lecture of Discovery Award and the Norbert J. Kreidl Award for Young Scholars.  The deadline for nominations for both awards is March 1, 2010.

The Stookey Lecture Award is named in honor of materials pioneer Dr. S. Donald Stookey.  The winner will present a lecture at the May 16-19, 2010 GOMD meeting in Corning, NY.  Nomination details can be found on the ACerS website.

The Norbert J. Kreidl Award, which recognizes excellence in research, will also be presented at the May 2010 GOMD meeting. The competition is open to all degree-seeking graduate students (MSc or PhD) or those who have graduated within a twelve month period of the meeting. The winner will present a lecture at a special awards session. Nomination details can be found on the ACerS website.
