The Center for Research, Technology and Education in Vitreous Materials (CeRTEV) at the Universities of São Carlos (UFSCar, USP & UNESP) is proud to host the 3rd São Carlos School on Glasses and Glass-Ceramics from March 10th to 15th, 2025, in São Carlos, São Paulo State, Brazil. This event is an unparalleled opportunity for Brazilian and international Ph.D. students to dive deep into the world of glasses and glass-ceramics, gaining state-of-the-art knowledge and networking with leading experts.
Highlights of the Event:
- Learn from distinguished instructors from CeRTEV and visiting faculty from NYSCC, Alfred University, USA, who will cover a wide range of topics from electrical and optical properties of glasses to advanced computational modeling and spectroscopy techniques.
- Engage in “two-minute fire talks” and poster presentations, offering a platform for students to present their research and interact with their peers and professors.
- Explore the latest research in glass science through hands-on sessions and discussions on topics such as machine learning in glass design, glass crystallization fundamentals, and bioactive glasses.

The school is designed for M.Sc. and Ph.D. students interested in the field of glass science and technology. Postdocs, industry researchers, and young professors are also welcome to apply for a limited number of 10 guest slots.
