The ACerS International Nordic Chapter organized a roundtable about smart ceramic materials at University of Southern Denmark, Sønderborg, Denmark. Ceramic materials have been defined by the community as per one’s convenience. The very general definition of ceramics is the materials with combination of two or more elements. The functionality of materials is defined by the way we combine them together.
Smart ceramic materials are going to play key role in future sustainable society and this field requires constant efforts in the direction of new ceramic materials development and engineering. The roundtable on smart ceramics at SDU Sønderborg discussed new horizons in ceramics materials, development, properties, and applications. The event was very successful and gave a good motivation to young researchers and has setup a good basis for the high-level event in 2025.
