A one-day national seminar on “Ceramics: Education to Enterprise Opportunities” was organized by the Indian Ceramic Society Student Chapter of the Department of Ceramic and Cement Technology at PDA College of Engineering in Kalaburagi. The event was held in collaboration with the ACerS International Southwest India Chapter and the Indian Ceramic Society Karnataka Chapter.
The seminar highlighted that ceramic engineering extends beyond traditional job opportunities and offers significant potential for entrepreneurship. Speakers encouraged students to look beyond employment and consider establishing their own enterprises, emphasizing their role in economic development and job creation.
The seminar was inaugurated by Ravikumar, a professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in the presence of C.D. Madhusoodana, vice president of the Indian Ceramic Society and chair of the ACerS International Southwest India Chapter, and Shyam Rao, chairman of the Indian Ceramic Society Karnataka Chapter.
The program was presided over by Shashil G. Namoshi, president of the Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society. Uday Chincholi, secretary of HKES, attended as guest of honor, along with Siddarama R. Patil, principal of PDA College of Engineering.
The seminar was convened by Veeresh Mallapur, head of the Department of Ceramic and Cement Technology, with Baburao Sherikar, professor, and Shashi Bhushan, chair of the student chapter.
