The ACerS Glass & Optical Materials Division is offering $300 travel grants for up to 20 students to attend the 2016 GOMD Meeting. The application deadline is Friday, November 13, 2015 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time. The award will cover the student registration fee and additional travel expense, for a total of $300 per applicant. This award is designed to help and encourage undergraduate and graduate students in the field of glass and optical materials to attend the GOMD 2016 meeting, which will be held in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, May 22-26, 2016.

Application Process: All candidates must submit an abstract for a talk or poster presentation at the meeting using the online submission process: www.ceramics.org/gomd2016. The deadline for abstract submission is Nov. 25, 2015. In addition, candidates should send an e-mail requesting the travel assistance, including name, institution and status (undergraduate or graduate student) to the Chair of GOMD, Dr. Randy Youngman.  Each student candidate should also arrange for a letter of support to be submitted by a sponsoring faculty member.  Note that applications are only being accepted from students who submit an abstract for a talk or poster.

Decision process: The GOMD officers will serve as the selection committee for this assistance, and will notify the applicants promptly of their decisions.
