The March 2020 issue of ACerS Bulletin is now available online.
In the cover story, authors M. H. Moreira et al. investigate the potential of discrete element modeling to engineer microstructures of refractory materials. An accompanying case study by authors Ariel Gandelman et al. reports on the use of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) method to determine optimal initial and final molding furnace temperatures for curved glass.
Two big ACerS announcements appear in this issue—the establishment of the new Energy Materials and Systems Division, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ACerS and The European Ceramic Society.
The March issue includes a four-page look at Ceramics Expo, returning to Cleveland for its sixth annual technology showcase. This year the expo will emphasize ceramics’ tremendous influence on key industries with the theme “Enabling a Clean, Efficient, & Electrified Future.”
Also, this issue features recaps of the recent EMA 2020 and ICACC 2020 meetings, and it previews two new meetings premiering this year—Ceramic Manufacturing Solutions Conference and Pan American Ceramics Congress and Ferroelectrics Meeting of Americas.
