The start of a new year is a great time to embrace change, and that is exactly what The American Ceramic Society journals group is doing this month. Take a look below to see all the new issues, editors, and workshops the journals group is welcoming in 2020!

ACT and IJAGS January 2020 special issues provide in-depth insight

Ceramics for the Circular Economy,” a special issue of the International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology (ACT), discusses life cycles, using waste and recycled materials, and more.

Phosphate Glasses and General Glass Science,” a special issue of the International Journal of Applied Glass Science (IJAGS), explores the science and use of phosphate glasses in optical and other applications.

JACerS welcomes, says goodbye to journal editors

Juan Claudio Nino, professor at the University of Florida, joins the Journal of the American Ceramic Society editorial team. Nino specializes in functional ceramics and will hit the ground running in this very active research segment.

Lisa Klein stepped down this year from editing JACerS after over 20 years of service. We greatly appreciate her outstanding contributions to the Journal and our field, and we wish her well in all her future endeavors.

IJCES Vol. 2 and special APC

International Journal of Ceramic Engineering and Science has completed publication of Volume 1 and will release Volume 2, Issue 1 shortly. Be sure to check out all the open access articles here.

IJCES is the ACerS journal for publishing the good science and engineering you present at conferences. ACerS and Wiley has teamed up to offer a special article processing charge (APC) for the ICACC conference later this month, an offer that can be applied to any ACerS conference this year. We look forward to seeing your manuscript.

Speaking of ICACC…

Meet the editors-in-chief of our journals at the Wiley booth at ICACC Expo. Presently scheduled is Monica Ferraris and H.T. Lin, coeditors-in-chief of ACT (5–6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28), Ricardo Castro, editor-in-chief of IJCES (6:30–7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28), and Bill Fahrenholtz, editor-in-chief of JACerS (6:30–7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29).

Two chances to attend “Expand your impact”

The new ACerS Journal Publishing Workshop “Expand your impact” is being held two times in January, at Electronic Materials and Applications 2020 (EMA 2020) and the 44th International Conference and Expo on Advanced Ceramics and Composites (ICACC 2020). Please register in advance to reserve your spot and your lunch provided courtesy of Wiley.
