Christina Rost_header

ACerS is pleased to announce Christina Rost has been selected for Volunteer Spotlight, a program that recognizes a member who demonstrates outstanding service to The American Ceramic Society through volunteerism.

Rost is currently assistant professor of materials science and engineering at Virginia Tech, and previously associate professor of physics at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. She earned an M.S. in physics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from North Carolina State University.

Her research focuses on complex oxide synthesis and local characterization using X-ray spectroscopy for a variety of functional applications.

Rost previously served as a mentor for the ACerS Mentor Program. More recently, she successfully petitioned the Washington D.C./Maryland/Virginia Section to expand its borders to include all of Virginia.
