This award recognizes the enormous contributions of Dr. Shunpei Yamazaki’s visionary technical and philanthropic leadership, exceptional achievements, prolific innovations, and unwavering dedication to advancing technology. The recipient will be invited to present a plenary lecture during the Plenary Session of the annual International Conference on Advanced Ceramics and Composites (ICACC). While membership in The American Ceramic Society is encouraged, it is not required.
Nomination Process
The three main criteria used in selecting the recipient are:
- The nominee’s pioneering contributions to materials science, engineering innovation, and the development of sustainable materials, including both the expansion of fundamental knowledge and its successful translation into practical and commercial applications,
- Demonstrated leadership in fostering collaboration across academia, industry, and government to promote responsible resource use and advance technologies that reduce environmental impact while enhancing performance and efficiency, and
- A sustained commitment to inspiring future research, elevating visibility and public awareness of sustainable materials and technologies, and advocating for these advancements on an international stage.
The award will consist of Shunpei Yamazaki-Semiconductor Energy Laboratory (SEL) award plaque, award certificate, $1,000.00 honorarium and complimentary registration to ICACC.
