The Corporate Environmental Achievement Award (CEAA) recognizes and honors an outstanding environmental achievement made by an ACerS Corporate Partner in the field of ceramics.

These achievements represent either:
– a significant improvement of an existing process and/or product, or
– the development and implementation of a new process and/or product

The achievement preferably shall represent either an improvement of an existing process/product or development/implementations of a new process/product that reduces undesirable effluent streams, expands recycling of materials, reduces the environmental impact of products or provides other environmental benefits over previous processes.

A maximum of two awards may be given each year. The award is formally presented to a designated corporate representative at the Annual Meeting banquet

Nomination Process

A current corporate member, or an organization may join as a corporate member in order to qualify for the award. Nominations should consist of a concise description of the achievement (500 words maximum) outlining its significance and its impact on the environment. Appropriate supporting documents that further aid in the evaluation are also requested. Nominations will be evaluated by the CEAA subcommittee, and the winners selected will be forwarded to the Board of Directors for approval. Recipients of the award in any given year shall be eligible again in the following year for a separate achievement. Those nominees not selected for an award will remain eligible for two years. Joint nominations in which two or more companies have combined resources to develop a process and/or product can be submitted. In this case, a representative from one company should coordinate the effort and act as a spokesperson.
