SiCrystal constructing new building to expand silicon carbide wafer production
ROHM Group subsidiary SiCrystal GmbH is creating an additional 6,000 m² of space for the production of its monocrystalline silicon carbide wafers by constructing a new building directly opposite its existing site in the north-east of Nuremberg, Germany.
Quino Energy announces 100 kWh flow battery pilot and plans for global expansion
Quino Energy, a company developing water-based organic flow batteries, announced its 10 kW / 100 kWh prototype is now operational, using material produced via its zero-waste, continuous flow production process that achieved Manufacturing Readiness Level 7. The company also shared plans to expand its production footprint into the European Union.
Underwater cable installation marks end of construction for Oregon wave energy test site
Located seven miles offshore of Newport, Oregon State University’s new wave energy testing facility is nearly complete. The final steps for the PacWave project will be taken in early August 2024 with the installation of underwater power and data cables. Once done, the Department of Energy-backed test site will become the first of its kind in the U.S.

Cemex announced an investment in carbon capture startup KC8 Capture Technologies carried out through its corporate venture capital and open innovation unit, Cemex Ventures. This investment in KC8’s technology has the intention of scaling such technologies to new heights in the largest project of its kind to date for KC8.
