SCHOTT breaks ground on €40 million electric furnace
SCHOTT broke ground on its first electrified melting tank in Mitterteich, Germany. The €40 million investment is partially funded by the German government. Using 100% green electricity, the tank will produce SCHOTT’s FIOLAX Pro Optimized Carbon Footprint tubing.
US semiconductor manufacturer Coherent inaugurates its third Vietnam facility
Coherent Corp., a leading semiconductor producer in the U.S., inaugurated its third Vietnam factory, located in the southern province of Dong Nai. The new facility Coherent Nhon Trach, with an initial investment capital of $127 million, came following the ones in Binh Duong and Bac Ninh provinces.
Dixon Tech picks Tech Mahindra for big AI Industry 4.0 project in India

Syria and Saudi Arabia sign more than $6 billion in investment deals
Syria and Saudi Arabia signed 47 investment agreements, valued at over $6 billion, at the Syrian-Saudi Investment Forum. The agreements cover a wide range of sectors, and planned projects include housing, the reconstruction of war-damaged areas, the development of tourism, medical and entertainment sites, skyscrapers, and three new cement factories.

Apple announced a new $100 billion commitment that brings its total U.S. investment to more than $600 billion over the next four years. The company also announced a new American Manufacturing Program, which will help fund a major expansion of Apple’s long-standing partnership with Corning to produce smartphone cover glass.
National Academies appoint three executive directors for new centers and international office
The National Academies announced the appointment of executive directors for three of the institution’s new centers and offices. Tina Bahadori will lead the Center for Advancing Science and Technology; Elizabeth Eide will lead the Center for Health, People, and Places; and Vaughan Turekian will lead the Office of International Networks, Collaboration, and Security.
