Optiemus, Corning set up India’s first tempered glass factory in Noida for $70M

India’s Optiemus Electronics Ltd. partnered with Corning Inc. to set up India’s first tempered-glass manufacturing facility at Noida. The facility will have a total installed capacity of 25 million units/year in the first phase of production.

MITER Brands restructures Florida manufacturing operations

Window and door manufacturer MITER Brands is reshuffling its Florida operations. The major moves include relocating production lines from its Medley and Hialeah facilities to other MITER Brands facilities in Florida; the closure of its Medley and Hialeah manufacturing facilities; and opening a new, advanced glass manufacturing plant in Pembroke Pines.

Historic UK glass museum faces closure

Amkor relocates $2B semiconductor facility to larger Arizona site

DuPont announced that Arclin, a portfolio company of an affiliate of TJC, L.P., reached a definitive agreement to acquire DuPont’s Aramids business (Kevlar and Nomex) in a transaction valuing the business at approximately $1.8 billion.
