Obeikan Glass launches second float glass line in Saudi Arabia

Obeikan Glass and Chinese technology company Liaoning Zhongyuan signed an agreement to launch a second float glass line in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. Currently, the company has a manufacturing capacity of 800 tpd and produces clear float glass from 3 to 12 mm thick. The new float glass line will have a capacity of 650 tpd.

NSG and NovaSklo to build Ukraine float glass plant

NovaSklo signed an agreement with Pilkington Technology Management to support the construction of a float glass production line in Kyiv, Ukraine. The plant’s launch, scheduled for 2028, will establish local glass production, reduce import dependence, and stimulate the development of the country’s construction industry by adopting new quality standards.

POSCO International to produce rare earth elements and permanent magnets in US

POSCO International, a subsidiary of POSCO Holdings signed a memorandum of understanding with Indiana-based ReElement Technologies to build a production complex for rare earth elements and permanent magnets in the United States.

The study finds that falling battery costs have brought round-the-clock solar electricity within reach in sunny countries such as Mexico, which could meet up to 90% of its electricity demand with solar and batteries.
