A planned supersized floating wind turbine by Ming Yang Smart Energy with two spinning heads will generate 50 MW, nearly double the amount of energy as the current record-holder.
Toyota opens massive North Carolina EV battery factory
Toyota’s massive plant in the Greensboro suburb of Liberty, N.C., is now assembling batteries for hybrids and electric vehicles. The first shipments went out this past summer. Earlier in 2025, Japan struck a deal with the Trump administration promising manufacturing investments in the U.S. in exchange for lower tariffs.
Guyana proposes glass manufacturing facility
The South American country of Guyana said it wants to capitalize on its high-quality sand to produce glass products for international markets, including the automobile sector and a bottling plant. The proposed glass factory will be located within the Wales Industrial Zone, which is currently under construction.
EU mobilizes $2.3B to fund works on transport corridor linking Zambia, Angola, DR Congo
The European Union announced that it has so far mobilized €2 billion (US$2.31 billion) to fund the construction of the Lobito transport corridor connecting Zambia, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of Congo to the Atlantic Ocean.

Posco moves forward with acquisition of Argentine lithium mine
Korean steel and chemicals conglomerate Posco Group is moving ahead with its proposed acquisition of a major lithium mine in Argentina’s Hombre Muerto salt lake. The news comes shortly after Posco agreed to invest US$765 million in a 30% stake in a joint venture with Australian mining company Mineral Resources Ltd.
Vitro reaches agreement to manufacture VacuMax in North America
Vitro Architectural Glass, in collaboration with VIG Technologies and LandVac, the developer of LandVac vacuum insulating glass technology, entered a long-term, exclusive agreement that will enable Vitro to produce and sell VacuMax units in North America.
