Indonesia secures $1.4B for 50 GW solar manufacturing
Danantara Indonesia, the country’s sovereign wealth fund, secured $1.4 billion in investment to build a photovoltaic manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of up to 50 GW. The factory, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, will supply equipment for solar power plants across Indonesia.
This Seattle cement plant burns a million tires a year and wants to burn more
Nationally, the cement industry gets about 15% of its energy from tires. Ash Grove in Seattle, Wash., has been burning tires at twice that rate. The plant wants to increase the burning of tires to 37% of its fuel supply, but environmentalists are pushing back against that decision.
Recycling plant turns glass to cement that supports Yale construction
Yale University is aiming to achieve net-zero carbon emissions on campus by 2035 and zero actual carbon emissions by 2050. But even if operations are fueled sustainably, creating a building from raw materials is carbon intensive. So, Yale is using Pozzitive, an industrial filler made from recycled glass, in some of its new developments to reduce emissions.

Tethon 3D acquires strategic portfolio of IP assets from Fortify
Tethon 3D acquired a strategic portfolio of intellectual property assets originally developed by Fortify, including tech that will enhance its high-performance composite and dielectric materials offering. The two companies previously collaborated in 2021 to develop ceramic materials for 3D printed end-use parts.
Lynas extends JARE deal and license as valuation stretches higher
Lynas Rare Earths extended its long term supply agreement with Japan Australia Rare Earths through to 2038. The agreement includes demand- and market-linked pricing mechanisms for key rare earth materials supplied to Japanese customers.
