Nadara completes 227-MW Sicilian agrivoltaic plant(opens in new tab)
Nadara completed the 227MW Big Fish project in Sicily, which it described as the largest agrivoltaic plant in Italy. The company says the project was made possible through a 156-MW power purchase agreement with Amazon.
CeramTec expands German production capacity for orthopaedic ceramics(opens in new tab)
CeramTec opened a 12,000-m² extension at its Marktredwitz site in Germany, adding around 5,000 m² of production space for ceramic components used in hip and knee replacements. The company invested a high double-digit million euro amount in the expansion, with construction beginning in September 2023 and production starting in phases during 2026.

Apollo announced the successful completion of Apollo managed funds’ acquisition of Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. and the launch of its new management structure, marking the new beginning of its next phase of growth.
NANO Nuclear Energy Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, HALEU Energy Fuel Inc., entered into a definitive asset purchase agreement with Radnostix Inc. and its subsidiary International Isotopes Fluorine Products, Inc. to acquire strategic U.S. nuclear fuel processing assets, including a U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission license.
DRDO and CSIR-CGCRI join hands on project to develop lighter bulletproof glass(opens in new tab)
The Defence Research and Development Organisation joined hands with CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute for a Rs 50-crore project to develop indigenous advanced lightweight bulletproof glass for armored vehicles. The four-year project will be executed with DRDO laboratories.

The Supervisory Board of SCHOTT AG approved the early termination of Torsten Derr’s appointment as CEO. Derr will step down effective October 31, and Stefan Brandl will become the new CEO effective November 1. Brandl has been vice chairman and CEO of German automotive supplier Dräxlmaier Group since 2021.
Vidrala unites Portuguese operations under one project(opens in new tab)
Vidrala created a shared identity by bringing together its operations in Portugal under a single name. Vidrala Marinha Grande will combine the production sites of Gallo Vidro and Santos Barosa, which will now operate respectively as Vidrala Marinha Norte and Vidrala Marinha Sul.

Solar activity in Africa has been booming, but U.K.-based think tank Ember makes the case that the topline figures mask an unseen surge of growth because of poor national reporting.
