Europe’s largest floating PV park gets local owners and starts work

The 27.4-MW Bomhofsplas photovoltaic park in the Netherlands, which is the largest floating solar farm in Europe, is now operational (as of July 1) and locally owned. The park’s 72,000 panels are to produce 25 GWh in their first year of operation.

Visy buys bottle maker Owens-Illinois’ local operations

Visy, a recycling and cardboard box manufacturing giant, will become Australia’s biggest glass bottle maker after it acquires Owens Illinois Glass’s Australian and New Zealand division. Visy said adding glass manufacturing to its capability was in line with its commitment to create sustainable packaging solutions and local manufacturing jobs.

Interglass collaborates with Vidrio Formas on hand sanitizer

Mexican technology supplier Interglass collaborated with a glass manufacturer Vidrio Formas to distribute a vital hand sanitizer that tackles COVID-19. Interglass worked with a national research institute to develop an anti-viral handcream which neutralizes the COVID-19 virus.

Messe München acquires Glasstech Asia / Fenestration Asia

Messe München acquired Glasstech Asia / Fenestration Asia, the leading trade fair for glass manufacturing, processing, and machinery in the ASEAN region. The first edition directed by Messe München will take place in November 2020 in Bangkok.

D.C. Circuit ruling empowers energy storage technology to tap bigger markets
