Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (pdf) has decided to establish a new company in China, to manufacture and sell glass for flat panel displays. Tthe company name will be “Electric Glass Xiamen Co. Ltd.” and will be located in Xiamen City, Fujian Province.
AGC announces (pdf) that it will build a new production facility for ultrathin glass at the Rayong Plant of AGC Flat Glass Thailand. This new facility is dedicated to the production of ultrathin glass, which is soda-lime glass, used as cover glass for the touchscreens of notebook computers and other electronic devices. AGC plans to start product supply in March 2014. The investment will boost the production capacity for ultrathin glass by 50 percent.
