- (Bloomberg Business Week) Owens Corning will establish a new advanced manufacturing operation in Gaston County, N.C. The company plans to create 110 new jobs in North Carolina by the end of 2016 and invest more than $120 million in the NC Certified Gastonia Technology Park. The company says this new facility will enable it to expand its glass non-wovens business in North America. Completion is expected to be completed by mid-to-late 2015.
- (ECNC.cn) Fuyao Glass Industry Group, China’s largest automobile glass manufacturer, has announced plans to invest $420 million to set up production facilities in the United States and Russia. The company will invest $200 million to build a safety glass plant in the US and $220 million to establish a base to supply raw materials for its safety glass plant in the Russian market.
