PPG to manufacture STARPHIRE glass using oxy-fuel furnace in Fresno

PPG Industries will manufacture Starphire ultra-clear glass using oxy-fuel furnace technology at its float glass plant in Fresno, Calif. Starphire glass was formerly manufactured only at PPG’s central Pennsylvania plant. According to Patrick J. Kenny, PPG director of marketing, flat glass, West Coast production of Starphire glass will yield significant environmental and supply chain benefits. 

NSG lights up ultra-thin float-glass plant in Vietnam

The NSG Group’s new ultra thin glass float line at NSG Vietnam Glass Ltd has been lit up for the first time. The new line will commence production from the second half of this fiscal year, which brings the number of the Group’s float lines dedicated to Ultra Fine Flat glass (UFF) to two (one in Japan and one in Vietnam).

AGC celebrates groundbreaking at automotive glass plant 

AGC, a world-leading manufacturer of glass, chemicals and high-tech materials, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new automotive glass plant of AGC Automotive Mexico S.A. de C.V. located in Villa de Reyes, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. At the ceremony, which was participated by approximately 40 guests including Mayor of Villa de Reyes, federal and state government representatives and industrial park authorities, AGC declared that the construction project would go on as planned while ensuring safety, and the new plant would contribute to the growth to the city of Villa de Reyes, as well as the automotive industry in Mexico.
