According to a new technical market research report from BCC Research, Nanotechnology in Coatings and Adhesive Applications: Global Markets, the global market value for nanotechnology in coatings and adhesives is an estimated $3.7 billion in 2010, but is expected to increase to nearly $19.2 billion in 2015, for a 5-year compound annual growth rate of 39.3 percent.

Nanocoatings is the the largest segment of the market. It is expected to increase at a 5-year CAGR of 39.5%, from $3.4 billion in 2010 to nearly $18 billion in 2015.

Nanoadhesives is expected to reach a value of $1.2 billion in 2015. The market in 2010 is estimated at $257 million. The 5-year CAGR is projected to be 36.4%.

Nanocoatings and nanoadhesive are use in applications including medical and health care, electronics, energy, transportation, construction, packaging, forestry, textile and homeland security.
