The December 2017 issue of the ACerS Bulletin is now available online.

The issue—our biggest of the year—features a brand new in-depth analysis of some of the things that ceramic and glass materials make possible in our world.

In this inaugural article, we delve into the automotive world, an industry that’s incredibly huge, worldwide, essential to global economies, and completely infiltrated by ceramic and glass materials. But what technologies do ceramic and glass components enable in vehicles, and how big are those markets? How is the landscape of the auto industry evolving, and how does that evolution affect the ceramic and glass industries? What new niche markets are emerging for ceramic and glass materials in the automotive world? Find all this and more inside the new issue.

Curious about that cover? The adorned artcar featured on the cover of the new Bulletin issue is called That Car #3, and it’s owned and driven every day by ACerS meeting planner Greg Phelps. Since 2011, Phelps has been busy adorning his artcar with some 2,000 objects—including mirrors, reflectors, wine corks, tennis balls, toy figurines, plastic skeletons, and much more.

In addition to our exploration of all things automobiles, the new issue also features the annual ceramicSOURCE 2018 reference and buyer’s resource directory.  The comprehensive ceramicSOURCE guide includes two complete directories—one that lists all companies in the directory in alphabetical order; and another that details which companies provide specific products and services, such as additives, construction ceramics, or refractories.

Not sure where to start with this vast resource? Flip to the alphabetical index on page 37 to pinpoint what page holds precisely what product or service you’re looking for.

Did you know that all this useful information is also available in a digital version of ceramicSOURCE? The website allows you to easily browse company listings by keyword, category, and/or location—allowing you to further pinpoint the suppliers that offer resources you need. If your own company is not yet listed in ceramicSOURCE, be sure to add it today—listings are free!

There’s lots more good stuff inside this—and every issue—of the ACerS Bulletin. The current issue is free to all for a short time, but remember that all the valuable content in over ninety years of past issues of the ACerS Bulletin is free only to members—so considering joining us today!
