The Si-based ceramics and composites continue to be the key enabling materials for applications in aerospace, power utility, transportation, nuclear, and chemical industries where demanding long-term reliability and lifetime performance are critically needed. The great success of ISASC-2004 &-2008 has led to the continuation of this legacy to have the ISASC-2012. The ISASC-2012 will again provide an outstanding international scientific forum for researchers of universities, institutions, and industries around the world to discuss and exchange the up-to-date of recent advances in the research, industrial development and applications of Si-based ceramics and composites.
